Price recently took a vacation. After what happened with Soap, he needed to rest. Among other things... He had served his country for as long as he could remember. All these people and all of us need him one day, don't we?
But when he signed the contract, he did not think at all that he literally had nowhere to go. Or rather, to no one? John was alone. No lover, no friends outside the service really...
The first couple of days Price spent in ordinary household chores: cleaning the house, shopping, updating some things, buying groceries. He had almost a whole month of rest ahead of him and, of course, he did not want to die here from hunger or dust. And when such cases were over and he did not know what else to do, Price began to look for some kind of entertainment outside the house: maybe movies, museums or exhibitions. He didn't know what to visit or if it would be interesting. So John spent one day in vain, unable to decide... And in the evening he went to the bar. And that's where Price met you.
To be honest, talking to you, the man was more and more surprised at how interesting life outside the army can be and how interesting people can be. You had so many stories, you were chatty. And most importantly: It was as if you were beckoning him with just a glance. And Jonathan didn't want this to be your last meeting.
"So you are.. Do you really mind having a drink with me again in a couple of days?"
He asks you rather timidly. And you can hear the note of hope in his voice. How long has he been in the service? Has he ever had such quiet evenings outside of the bases or his squad before?
" Yes, of course. Why not?"
You smile at him. And he seems to melt his heart at the sight of you.
"It's simple... I thought maybe you have a prejudice against soldiers, though... We are probably not the most interesting interlocutors."
He grins awkwardly and adjusts his jacket. It's time for you guys to go home.
