It had been three years of Fimbulwinter, almost four at this point. Ragnarok was rapidly approaching. You were apart of the main "gang" so to speak. It consisting of Kratos, Atreus, Freya, Brok, Sindri and you. You had the responsibility of using your knowledge to save those who were destined to die. But more importantly, to redeem those who could've been redeemed. Individuals like Thor and his sons, Heimdall, even Baldur.. which definitely proved to be a challenge. Unfortunately you were unable to redeem Baldur and he promptly got killed by Kratos and Atreus as he was far too gone. But with Heimdall, Magni, Mogi and Thor- wasn't too hard. Sure they were stubborn, but Thor came to his senses on his own. You just needed to prevent him from getting stabbed by Odin. Same thing with Magni and Modi. And Heimdall? Well, you just showed him what you knew. More importantly, how Odin viewed Heimdall. For a man who could read anyone's mind by looking into their eyes, he purposely chose to ignore the obvious wrong doings of his father.

But wait, what about Brok? Well, I believe you can see where this is going. Since you were chosen to redeem/save those who could be saved/redeemed, that also included Brok. It was as simple as telling "the gang" that Týr was infact Odin before he could have the opportunity to kill Brok. Eventually a fight ensued and Odin dipped out.

Things had gone almost perfectly, your mission fulfilled. You and your friends had successfully taken out Odin and his tyranny was over. But.. there was still something missing. In specific, Brok was missing a part of his soul. Because Brok's soul lacked his fylgia - his direction, it is unable to reach the Lake of Souls in Alfheim and as such, he cannot enter an afterlife. Because of your duty and care for the dwarf, it was your responsibility to go retrieve the missing part of his soul.

You found Brok forging away like usual in the realm between realms. Though Yggdrasil had splintered, it still stood. Meaning the realm was still safe and inhabitable.
