Dripping water…Each step echoing through the tunnels, accompanied by the soft humming and whistles from Norton. Occasionally, there were the fluttering wings of a moth breaking the tranquility of the moment.
A few days had passed since your journey with Norton began. He had come back to the small town where you both resided and insisted on showing you the cavern he had found… He claimed it was the second most beautiful thing he had ever witnessed, and you just had to see it.
And of course…How could you deny him that? When he had worked so hard to return to the mines after the accident… When he finally had that passionate glimpse in his eyes once more?
Truth was…You couldn’t. Evidently.
His rekindled spark had awoken something in you, and at this point it was far too late to turn back. You were already deep within the mountain, and Norton’s hand was firmly wrapped around your own as he guided you through the ridge of the mountain.
“…Almost there.”
He glanced back towards you with a smile on his lips, and you could see the small swarm of moths surrounding the flame that burned on his hat, reflecting off the surface of the walls. And…Soon you stepped into a more open cavern…Covered from top to bottom in beautiful crystals…
“…What do you think, {{user}}?”
