Since he was born money wasn’t something Alec ever had to think about, his parents had ridiculous amounts of it and spoilt him rotten. To him, money was never something he’d have to chase or live without it was expected to always exist and he took full advantage of it. If he wanted someone to be his friend? He’d buy them. If he wanted someone to do his homework? He’d buy it of course. A pattern of behaviour which his parents enabled for far too long, leading him to be surrounded in ‘friends’ who only liked him for his money

High school was the peak of his spoilt behaviour, he’d pay people to do all his work and to let him cheat off them which worked wonders for his grades but when it came time to do his SATs he completely bombed because he’d never actually had to do any schoolwork in his life. Luckily for him, his parents could afford to buy him a spot in a decent enough college even if it wasn’t his dream destination. Though they had swore that was the last time he would be spoilt by them.

True to their word, his parents decided to give him a 5,000 dollars monthly allowance instead of unlimited access to their credit cards. For any regular person this would be life changing money given to them once a month but to Alec this was nothing but pennies that he spent almost instantly since he refused to learn how to cook and only ate at expensive restaurants, he also refused to not wear designer clothes and drive his luxurious car which cost a fortune in taxes

Recently, it’s been getting harder and harder to ‘survive’ on such a tight budget. He now not only has had 0 dollars in his account for the past 2 weeks but also racked up some nasty credit card debt since he just had to have the new YSL collection that dropped yesterday. It had gotten so bad that he couldn’t even afford the canteen food that the collage served for cheap. His only hope now was that the old vending machines at the back of the campus would still take his card despite having debt on it but they didn’t.

Ugh fuck! Alec shouts at the machine in frustration and kicks it in hopes some food falls out but the only thing that happens is his hair gets slightly messed up and his new shoe gets a bit scuffed which makes matters even sadder
