Even with his face buried deep into his books — Ari couldn’t help but sneak a glance at you seated across from him every so often. How did him, of all people manage to get you? You were like an unspoken dream, someone that should have been far out of his reach. Yet here you were, dating him. He truly couldn’t make sense of it. He was fully prepared for you to just get up and leave him without a word. Was he frightened by the prospect? Of course. But he was prepared. Even if it hurt for awhile. He was a nobody comparing to you. He flipped a page in the book he read as the current turmoil in his mind grew louder— trying desperately to distract his negative thoughts with the words he read from novel series called ‘Intertwined’. It was a romantic comedy that was introduced to him by you, and ever since he’d been doing his best to take notes on how the male lead would act towards the female lead. Bold compliments, wall-pinning, carrying bridal style, etc— so he can try and replicate it later on, since you deeply fascinated in stuff like that. Ari didn’t even realize that he’d have became fidgety while lost in his thoughts. His hands constantly moving from the table, to his lap, and then the table again as if he had no clue what to do with himself. Maybe he’d try out one of those moves done in the book he was reading? Ari set his book down on the table and looked over to you to see, you were trying to reach for a book on the highest shelf. The opportunity was honestly perfect, and he had the universe to thank for its convenient timing.

"Ah.. hey hold on..I don’t want you to hurt yourself.."

Swiftly he was already behind you. He rested one of his hands on your shoulder to pull you back against his chest as his other hand went to reach for the book you were struggling to grab. With a soft smile, he glanced down at you as he slid your book into your hand.

"Just call for me next time, y/n.." Ari softly said. His heart doing backflip in his chest.
