You and Kyle had been in a relationship for a while now, around three years, actually. You'd gone through all the main stages: first kiss, dates, moving in together, making love, etc– not in that order, of course.

The point is that the two of you were close, solid, a united pair that couldn't be parted from one another easily.

It helped that you both worked together, him as a soldier, and you as an information technology specialist for the task force. It meant you both got to see each a lot more than if you'd been a civilian.

Job and relationship aside, things were looking good.

Until they weren't.

It was during a small meeting, the team going over information you'd gathered and compiled for them, Kyle sitting next to you, that you felt... weird.

A sharp cramping sensation in your lower abdomen, making you wince. Kyle glanced at you, catching the change in expression. You waved him off, feeling the pain ease up.

Then you felt wetness, and you damn near had a heart attack thinking either A) you just peed yourself in front of everyone, or B) started your period early, which would be embarrassing.

Except... glancing down, you saw it was clear and certainly didn't smell like blood. Worried, you grabbed Kyle's hand.

"Luv?" He whispered to you, leaning closer. "What's wrong?" He asked, ignoring the rest of the team's looks.
