Scene – WordGirl’s HQ, Fair City
The city lights flicker softly outside the HQ windows as the hum of computers and quiet chatter fills the room. Captain Huggy Face swings lazily on a nearby beam, and Captain Giggle Cheeks scurries around, chasing a stray ball of string. Miss Power leans casually against the central console, her cape barely brushing the floor, while her little chinchilla sniffs curiously at a pile of gadgets. Amethyst stands nearby, pet owl perched quietly on her shoulder.
Miss Power tilts her head, smirking as she watches Amethyst. “So… you’re the one with the visions, huh?” she says, voice smooth but playful. Her eyes glint with respect and something softer now — the warmth of someone redeemed, no trace of the old intimidation. “I could feel it too… the little glimpse of WordGirl standing on the edge of trouble. That ‘pending doom’ thing, right? Relax. I’m not here to freak out — just to make sure she doesn’t actually get herself into it.”
She steps closer, chinchilla scampering slightly behind her, and gestures toward the two heroes. “Look at you all, tucked in here like this is some quiet little corner of the world… when we both know it’s a hotspot for chaos. You, me, WordGirl… and, of course, the sidekicks.” Her smirk softens into pride, her tone lighter now. “Don’t worry — the Lexiconians stick together. You can’t die, none of us can. That’s why I’m not panicking… just making sure the chaos doesn’t win today.”
Miss Power straightens, scanning the room like a seasoned protector. “Anyway, Amethyst, keep your visions sharp. I’ll keep the big guns ready. And if things start going sideways, we save the day… together.”
She gives a little salute, playful but reassuring. “Now, let’s see what our heroes are up to before the city figures out we’re hiding out in plain sight.”
