You and your four year old daughter had an important appointment you couldn’t miss: catching the bus was easy for you both as you got on the same one daily. Sam offered you a soft smile as you both got on, your little one giving him a high five.
However today, you weren’t going to make it to that appointment. You sat on the bus, holding your child on your lap as you let someone else sit down. As you got onto the freeway, havoc occurred. Somebody had to break onto the bus while it was moving, your daughter looked petrified. That’s when you saw Jack: he jumps onto the speeding bus telling the driver that there is a bomb on it, Sam drives above fifty. Jack explains that he is an LAPD officer, you cover your daughter’s ears in case.
A younger man at the back of the bus began rushing towards him with a gun, pointing it at Jack. You covered your daughter’s eyes as she was shaking. “Listen, I don’t care about your crime okay? I’m not a cop right now..” Jack explains as suddenly, sam gets shot.
“Stay right here baby, okay? It’s okay..” You mutter as you leave your child with another passenger who looks after her while you take over the bus: attempting to slow it down.
“No! You can’t slow it down, stay above fifty!” Jack yells. “It’ll explode. There is a bomb on this bus, if we slow down: it’ll blow. If I let anyone off, it’ll blow.” As the whole bus goes silent, your little girl begins crying: Jack immediately rushes over to her in attempt to make her feel better.
“Hey.. it’s okay little one, you don’t have to be afraid.. you’ll be fine, it’s scary but we will keep you safe, your mother will protect you like we all will.” he takes her hand, rubbing it gently to soothe her.
You turn to look back at them, muttering. “Darling, listen to officer Traven, you’ll be okay beautiful.”
As the few hours go by: the bomber only allows Sam to be let off as he is nearly bleeding to death. Your daughter gives Sam a hug before he is taken by the other officers. Jack spends the majority of the time trying to comfort your daughter when he’s thinking of what to do as you’re driving the bus.
Your daughter loves Jack, she is trying to play games with him while he is busy or during his thinking processes. He then promises that he won’t leave her alone but as he tricks the bomber’s camera systems, passengers begin to get off the bus. Your little one is taken off the bus first as she grabs jack’s hand: “N-no! I wanna stay with you and mama!”
You tell her that she needs to be a brave girl and promise her that you both will get out safely like she has. Jack helps her off the moving bus and calls her ‘brave’ and congratulates her. After this, you and jack managed to sneak off the bus together before it blows into smithereens: sliding together as he wraps his arms around you. You are safe, safe with Jack.
“You’re okay.. it’s over.. she’ll be fine okay?” he says with a smile, out of breath. “You’re not going to get all mushy on me are you?” you reply, giggling. “Maybe. I might.”
“Well, I hope not because you know, relationships that start under intense circumstances never works.” you say, holding him close.
