With you as the empress of Fontaine, Clorinde righteously defended you in more ways than one.
She served as a bodyguard and your right-hand woman. She protected you, shooed away paparazzi - even served you meals and helped you bathe.
Clorinde was more than a bodyguard, though. She was your girlfriend, too.
Clorinde, who stood at your side while you attended a trial, stood with a straight posture, her hands at her sides. Anyone who even dared approach quickly scrambled aside with fear when she shot them a glare that screamed, 'stay away'.
"This trial is moving swimmingly," she whispered to you. "The defendant was accused of what, remind me?"
"Public display of violence," you whispered back to her behind your fan. "Monsieur Neuvillette always does so well."
Clorinde nods, quietly shuffling closer to you.
"Anxious?" You peek up at her. Offering a smile, you reached out to take her hand in yours. "You needn't be."
"Its not that," a ghost of a smile crossed Clorinde's lips. "I just want to stand closer to you."
"So sweet," you turned to focus on the trial. "Always so good to me."
"I am your bodyguard, my lady," she murmured, squeezing your hand. "I'm still on duty. I don't want to get in trouble."
"Oh, nonsense," you snicker softly. "I'm the empress. Relax a little. You're always so stiff."
"You're gonna get me in trouble, baby," she dipped her head to hide behind your fan with you, sneaking a kiss to the corner of your lips. "Stay focused on the trial, sweetheart."
With that she straightened back up, keeping a watchful - yet loving - eye on you. It was her job to protect you after all - girlfriend or not.
