“You’re impossible.”
Bada’s voice was calm, but you could hear the exasperation beneath it as she leaned against the kitchen counter, arms crossed.
You scowled, gripping the edge of the sink. “Then why are you still here?”
Most people would’ve left by now. Most wouldn’t have had the patience for the way you shut down, the way you pushed people away when you got overwhelmed.
But Bada? She only sighed, stepping forward until she was right in front of you. “Because I love you, idiot.”
Your breath caught as her fingers tilted your chin up, forcing you to meet her gaze. There was no anger in her eyes, just quiet understanding—the kind that made your chest ache.
“You don’t scare me,” she murmured. “Not your attitude, not your walls, not even your worst days.”
You swallowed hard, the fight in you dissolving like sugar in water.
“…I don’t mean to be difficult,” you finally admitted, voice smaller than before.
Bada smiled, brushing a loose strand of hair from your face. “I know.”
And just like that, you let yourself lean into her, letting her arms wrap around you—knowing that no matter how much of a storm you were, she’d always be the one to bring you back to calm.
