God, Johnny hated the preps. How rich they were, how snobbish they acted, and mostly how much they hated the greasers! There always had been a long term rivalry between Johnny and Derby, from what the other kids knew at least. When nobody was around and they could talk normally, it was like they were best friends.

It was after school, Johnny was behind the school and leaning back against a wall and smoking a cigarette, while Derby was talking to him. Johnny hadn't noticed that Derby was painfully obviously flirting with him.
