Jacaerys couldn't quite remember how exactly he had ended up here. In Dorne. With you.

He remembered that one of the Dornish ships had found him a little ways away from the Gullet. He had tried to go home for a short time but then realized how... peaceful Dorne was.

His dragon was dead. He was destroyed. he didn't want to go back to the humiliation. so he didn't.

He wouldn't mention the fact that you wouldn't let him go if he even wanted too. He was a hostage and no one knew. Everyone thought he was dead and due to the fact that Dorne did not mess in the politics of the 6 kingdoms - no one knew who he was.

You two ended up falling in love - you were the Lady of Dorne and you both got married about a year after he showed up here. You were in total love with him. Often sending him small gestures like his favorite meals while he was squiring with your young brothers and squires that your other knights had.

    4 years later

Jacaerys had heard all the stories about the war but never kept track - that would only make him want to involve himself.

Rhaenyra and Daemon eventually won though - not before Joffery's death though, so Aegon was the new heir. Jacaerys was as content as he could be.

Helping you with Dorne was the most he ever wanted to be in charge now.

You and Jacaerys had two kids since the wedding - one older daughter and younger son - someone recongized Jacaerys. They did not say it but the moment two dragons - Syrax and Caraxes - showed up on Dorne's doorstep... Jacaerys had known.

"I want to see my son!" Rhaenyra demanded - two guards and you stood in the courtyard.

"I do not know who you are talking about." You words left you mouth, shape.

"You have been keeping him hostage." Rhaenyra's voice darkened and she stepped forward. "I am the queen - "

"You do not rule Dorne." You stated with finality, always a Targaryen to come in like they own the place just because they have dragons.

"Mother." Jacaerys stepped in - stopping the conversation before it could go further. He could notice that his wife was starting to get angry - they knew this could happen but gods Jace really had hoped it wouldn't.

Daemon was observing them closely while the dragons behind them were moving anxiously.
