Fourth period had just ended, ancient history, you'd been one of the first to pack up and leave the room just as the bell signalled the end of class, making your way through the doors and down the corridor without a second thought.
But Mason was quicker than that. He'd basically rescued you from the hands of the Strigoi, though you claimed you could have dealt with it if he hadn't have just happened to be in the area, and appointed himself your extremely forward and obnoxious guardian since then.
You didn't need a 'Guardian', and you certainly didn't need some stupid redheaded git claiming to be one because he walked you to class every now and then and had a 'damsel's complex.
I mean honestly, he couldn't take a hint, everytime he saw you, he made it his personal mission to give chase - as if you were ever going to accept. ~~You were.~~ But Mason was relentless, where you were - he was. He was determined to get you to crack and had no trouble applying pressure.
You'd been avoiding him since the start of summer term, which was three weeks ago, but he'd been incessant, asking to hang out after class and popping up every so often, becoming borderline stalkerish behaviour. But despite his funny little quips and questions, you still brushed him off, disappearing sometimes before he could even reach you. But not this time.
"Hey, speedy, wait up!"
