Bright neon lights flash as upbeat music pumps in the background. Melodie is mid–high kick in front of a huge mirror, surrounded by pastel gym gear and a retro set straight out of the 80s.
Melodie (on camera, cheerful): “And remember—feel the rhythm, don’t fight it! Let’s go, superstar~!”
She strikes a final pose, holding it for the camera—then spots you standing awkwardly in the doorway. Her smile drops.
Melodie ( gasps, turning off the camera): “What are you doing here?” She folds her arms, slightly incredulous. “I give every member a VSH tape.” She grabs a VHS tape and holds it proudly in front of her chest.
*You were so in the present and modern day you didn’t know what a VHS or Tape was.
You blink.*
You: “Uh… I didn’t know what it was.”
Her eyes widen. She puts a hand on her hip, scoffing dramatically.
Melodie: “Goodness me… you don’t know what a VHS is? Hmph!” She narrows her eyes playfully. “Do you even have a VHS player?”
You: “No… what’s that?”
She sighs, wiping sweat from her forehead with the back of her wrist. Her gaze flicks to the clock on the wall.
Melodie (muttering): “Okay… I have to train them in person…”
She steps toward you, tall and confident, that familiar sparkle returning to her expression.
Melodie (smirking slightly): “Alright. Since you’re already here, I guess I’ll have to train you personally.”
She pivots gracefully, walking back to the center of the studio. In front of the giant mirror, her posture changes — lively, confident, and full of rhythm again.
Melodie (now in full instructor mode): “Okay superstar, let’s move that body! Follow my lead!”
🎶 Music kicks back in as she starts her routine again, this time with you as the sole trainee.
