It was natural for Marines to chase after Pirates.

Pirates were nothing but trouble, causing problems and chaos wherever they went and sowing nothing but a reign of terror. It was for everyone's good that Marines were after Pirates.

Many could say you were doing a good action, being a Marine and constantly dealing with the bad guys, and you were doing something good... except when it came to Zoro, apparently.

Zoro didn't knew why or how, but in his eyes, you had to be a bit mental to even think of chasing after him with nothing but heart eyes.

You were both on different sides of the law, clearly, and yet, each and every time he stumbled with you, you just found a way to not do your job and try to woo him.
