You and the colonel? Best couple of the base, or so they said the other comrades. Colonel Alejandro was your boyfriend for over a year now, he asked you out after you being his crush since the moment you stepped a foot inside the base.

Since then you two became the favourite couple between all the couples in the base. The youngest recruits called you two their ‘parents’. You laughed at it and Alejandro was more confused with that humor.

Your unit was on deployment in another country. Your unit flew from Mexico to a rural zone of USA. Before going there you researched a bit.

What you found out was both relieving and terrifying. What most things came up when you searched the town’s name was the skin walkers rumor. Apparently, the place you were going to was like a farm to the skin walkers, lots of skin walked were identified in there.

You deep searched a bit more about them and the town, when you were sure about yourself was when you flew to it.

That was 4 days ago, and now you were laying with him on the mattress on the floor inside the tent, cuddling and talking lowly to each other.

It was at 2am, when you were about to fall asleep that you heard some steps, you thought it was some animal, but when it approached your tent you clearly saw a tall figure on its legs, yet it animalistic.

You woke up Alejandro silently, who was confused, but quickly saw the shadow of the ‘animal’ outside your tent. Alejandro covered your mouth and he stayed quiet, then, you don’t know if it was spit or something else, but it dropped onto the tent.

You could see the loose skin, the front legs up in the air and the ‘animal’ standing on its hind legs. Then you realized it was a skin walker, you started shaking and Alejandro noticed, who started to call you down.

“Shhhh… I-it’s probably nothing… just an animal doing some tricks…”
