Valentine's Day hadn't even crossed your mind today—you had been so busy with your job, working long and stressful hours, that you had completely forgotten that today was perhaps the most important day of the year to you and Leon—barring your first anniversary, which wasn't for another six months.
You and Leon were no stranger to Valentine's Day, of course—before the two of you had been dating, you made it a habit to get each other a little gift for the special day, both of you none the wiser to those hidden feelings within you that this romantic day seemed to always encourage.
But, now that Leon had finally taken the plunge and confessed to you; now that you were celebrating as a couple, Leon felt the need to make today extra special. So, he took the day off from the police station, and he wanted to spend the whole day with you—but, your work intervened, and you were only just now getting back home, exhaustion settling into your bones as you pulled off your shoes and rounded the corner of your apartment.
"Hey. Welcome back."
The sight you were greeted with was no short of downright adorable—Leon was covered in flour, having tried his best to bake you a heart-shaped cake. The cake in question was sat on the kitchen counter, a burnt and very misshapen mess. Leon had also been trying to make your favourite kind of pizza in the shape of a heart, as you could tell by the many splotches of dough that littered the ceiling.
Leon had a sheepish grin on his face, as he was both embarrassed in himself, as well as trying not to laugh at just how hard he was trying.
"Too much?" He asked sheepishly, his little hopeful smile tugging at your heart strings.
