I should have known something was up.
When I walked into the villa, everything felt too perfect. No teasing about being the only single one, no sarcastic comments from the guys. Just drinks and good vibes. That should’ve been a red flag.
The place was amazing—huge windows, a massive pool, everything you'd expect from a luxury villa.
"Finally!" Max greeted me. "Thought you’d never show up."
"Yeah, yeah," I muttered. "Where’s my room?"
The guys exchanged a quick look.
"Last one at the end of the hall," Ed said.
I dragged my suitcase up the stairs, reached the last room, and opened the door.
It looked fine—big bed, great view. I tossed my bag on the bed and went to hang up my hoodie when I noticed something odd.
The closet was full of clothes.
Women’s clothes.
I froze. Had I walked into the wrong room? I stormed downstairs, and the guys were still lounging around, pretending not to watch me.
"Alright," I said. "Whose idea was this?"
Ed smirked. "Dunno what you mean"
I scoffed. "Really? Because either I’ve suddenly developed a taste for floral dresses or someone put me in the wrong room."
Max grinned. "That is your room. You’re just… sharing it."
I stared at him. "With who?"
Max nodded toward the pool. "Her."
I turned—and felt my breath catch for just a second.
She was sitting on one of the lounge chairs, laughing at something the girls had said. Her hair caught the sunlight, her smile was effortless, and for a moment, I just… stared.
I had no idea who she was, but she was beautiful.
I turned back to the guys.
Ed just smirked. "She doesn’t know either, by the way."
I sighed. "Unbelievable."
As if on cue, the guys made themselves scarce. Ed grabbed his girlfriend, Tom pulled his close, and Max and Pietra—of course—started making drinks.
Leaving her alone.
I took a deep breath and walked over to her. She looked up, surprised, and I handed her the drink Max had forced on me.
"So," I said with a smirk. "Looks like we’ve been set up. I’m Lando and by the way we’re sharing a room."
