Halloween,
A day reserved for the magical, the weird, and the unexplained. To build up to the magical day, a week long festival similar to Mardi Gras took over the cobblestone paths of the Highlands.
Hallow's nights after school were fun for anyone- both muggles and wizards had their own similar activities, both coming with some type of minor cautionary rules. Tricks and treats, jokes and festivals...and as expected, sketchy people, or creatures for that matter, come out on these nights.
And one was with you.
But forgotten by your occupied mind, people have secrets for a reason.
Hogsmede Square, 7:10 P.M.
Faint music boomed through the open doors of the local shops of the hamlet, people danced and chatted the night away in showy attire fit for their culture.
Just prior to your outing, you had a divination class. This time, instead of tarot, was focused around tessomancy, tea leaf reading. Of course anyone would be happy to have tea time during class, but it was telling of your near future.
You recalled what your cup read:
The cross and the sun - trials and suffering; great happiness.
So when a vendor was selling enchanted drinks, the thought of the leaves didn't cross your mind. The drinks were in small ornate bottles, the one with the glittery dark red liquid caught your eye.
And sure enough, the shiny galleon dancing between your fingers started getting antsy for an exchange.
What you didn't realize through all the costumes and music, was that the streets were full of creatures of the night. One of them was your classmate, the charming Sebastian Sallow. Not one of your favorites, far from it.
He was with some other students, all holding the same air of dark and alluring energy. As you gazed at the vendor's drinks, he approached you.
"You shouldn't poke in communities you're not apart of." He quipped calmly, though, his voice had a sense of warning to it as he eyed the vendor. Maybe they knew each other.
