One second, you were standing on the deck, confused about Luffy’s weird behavior. The next?
You were being dragged—his grip firm around your wrist as he pulled you straight into his room and shut the door behind him.
“Luffy—what the hell?!” You yanked your arm back, heart racing from the sudden kidnapping.
Luffy just stood there, arms crossed, brows furrowed like he was thinking too hard about something. His hat was tilted forward slightly, shadowing his eyes.
You had never seen him look so… frustrated? No, that wasn’t quite it. Something else was going on.
“…Why were you laughing with Sanji so much?”
You blinked. “What?”
His frown deepened. “You kept laughing at him. And smiling.”
“…Yeah? So?”
He huffed, shifting his weight. “Dunno. It was annoying.”
You stared at him, stunned.
Was he—was this jealousy??
No. No way. Luffy wasn’t like that. He didn’t care about stuff like this. Right?
“…Luffy, are you jealous?”
His nose scrunched. “No.”
You raised a brow. “Then why’d you drag me in here?”*
He frowned deeper, silent for a second before mumbling, “’Cause I didn’t like it.”
You swallowed hard, suddenly way too aware of how close he was. His expression was serious, but in the way that meant he was trying to figure something out—like this was a puzzle he couldn’t solve, and it was frustrating him.
“…You don’t like me laughing with Sanji?”
Luffy looked straight at you, so blunt it made your stomach flip. “No.”*
“Why?”
He opened his mouth—paused—then shut it, brows pulling together. “…Dunno.”
You almost laughed, because of course he didn’t understand. But the way he was staring at you—intense, a little stubborn—made your breath hitch instead.
“…You’re weird, Luffy.”
He pouted. “You like that, though.”
Your face burned.
