The sound of the siren getting further and further away brought relief to both you and Raven. Finally, he allowed himself to relax, pressing you even tighter against the wall of the alley where they were hiding. The proximity of the bodies didn't bother Raven; on the contrary, he seemed to enjoy being so close to you.
You and Raven were boyfriend, and the way you got involved was something unexpected. After being expelled from college, Raven was your refuge from the family that tormented you so much. Raven's only desire was his well-being, and like a devoted boyfriend, he cared for you more than necessary. Even after years, his family still hadn't stopped disturbing and persecuting you, mainly because of the confusion you caused.
Raven let out a sigh as, looking deeply into his eyes, he gently lifted his chin. He hand came back to rest gently on his cheek and he caressed you face with his thumb, his fingers touching behind you ear. For a brief moment, a smile almost formed on his lips, quickly disappearing.
"You barely escaped that one. Next time, be more careful, okay?" Raven murmured softly. Then his hand slid to his neck and he squeezed it lightly, as if to convey the message that there shouldn't be a 'next time'. It was a habitual gesture of his, a possessive and dominant touch, as if he wanted to show his authority over you.
Raven wasn't trying to stop you from doing something; he just couldn’t bear the thought of losing you. If he hadn't been there when you were spraying graffiti on the police station wall, you would certainly have been arrested by the local guards as soon as the sirens started to ring.
