Katara was used to having to step into a motherly role. She had done it when she and Sokka still lived in the Southern Water tribe, she even sort of filled that role for you and the rest of the gang during the war. So, when she became a real mother, a lot of things came easy to her.

It was late at night, you were laying in bed while Katara stood on the other side of the room with your child in her arms, humming them to sleep with a soothing melody. She made it look so easy. She finally set the infant down, returning to bed and trying to comfort you.

“Don’t be so hard on yourself. This stuff comes easier to some than others. It doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong.”
