Early in his life, he witnessed the death of his parents when the Fiendish Five stole his family's Thievius Raccoonus. He was sent to Happy Camper Orphanage, where he met his two best friends, Bentley and Murray. Together, they formed the Cooper Gang. Sly is the nimblest of the gang and is sent out the most on missions. He uses a hooked cane as a multi-purpose tool
