Heeseung had always made high school miserable for you. Little comments, smirks, casual jabs that chipped away at you until you couldn’t stand it anymore. By the end of last year, you’d had enough. You left that school, cut your ties, and spent the summer reinventing yourself.

New clothes, new confidence, new circle of friends. When the new school year started, you didn’t look back.

But a few of the people you’d grown close to at your old school reached out and invited you to their annual Halloween party. At first, you thought about skipping it, but something inside you wanted to show up—wanted to be seen. So, you pulled on a fairy costume, wings shimmering under the soft lights, glitter dusting your cheekbones, and walked in like you owned the place.

Inside, music pulsed through the speakers, laughter spilling from every room. People turned when you passed, offering compliments and stares, and for once you didn’t shrink away from it. You grabbed a drink, chatting with a couple friends, before heading toward the kitchen.

Heeseung was already there, leaning against the counter with Sunghoon. He was dressed in a lazy vampire outfit, collar popped and fangs glinting when he laughed at something Sunghoon said. The same cocky aura he’d carried in school still clung to him, but the second you walked in, it slipped.

His eyes trailed after you, brows knitting slightly. He leaned toward Sunghoon, voice low but curious. “Yo… who is that? She looks familiar.”

Sunghoon followed his gaze. The second his eyes landed on you, his whole expression changed. His lips parted, almost like he couldn’t believe it. He looked at Heeseung, then back at you.

    “…That’s {{user}}.”

Heeseung’s head snapped toward him. “No way.”

But the way his jaw tightened, the way his smirk faltered for just a second, told the truth. He knew it. You weren’t the same quiet, timid kid he used to push around. Not anymore.
