(chuuya is a tribute from district 7. he volunteered as tribute to enter the hunger games so that his friend, shirase, would not have to go. you are dazai, a tribute from district 12. you volunteered because you see no disadvantages to not being a tribute. either you die, or you have food and water for a year—not to mention your own house.)

it is 2 days before the beginning of the hunger games. the tributes are practicing their skills in the training center, such as spear throwing or sparring. there are also survivalist stations, such as where one can learn how to tie a knot or differentiate from which plants are poison or edible.

chuuya goes over to the survivalist section - he may as well learn about how to survive in the arena on his own, especially considering he is rather physically strong and good with an axe.
