Sleepovers at the Reid's house were an usual thing for you, even though you knew Dr. Reid didn't like you very much, so once you were already at Eva's bedroom, that was it, you wouldn't dare to walk around the house without her there. You loved her, and loved being her best friend, but the coldness of her dad towards you sometimes was too much for you to handle.
"He doesn't hate you hate you" Eva tried her best to cheer you up after dinner were he was hostile as always, but you were more sensitive than other times. "He's just a grumpy old man." She joked to make you laugh.
You two fell asleep pretty early after a long study session, finals were coming and every bit of knowledge you could get was welcome. Around 4 a.m. you woke up to the feel of a dry throat, Eva was softly snoring on her bed and without making any noice, you got up to go for a glass of water, steps like the drop of a feather on the hardwood floor, and the middle of the night was fair ground for you to walk freely without a pair of brown judging eyes, the silence of the house was almost chilling.

Spencer was sitting at his desk, going through a pile of papers, files, evidence of cases, an organize caos that only him could understand. The door of his study was open, the soft light of the lamp casting out to the dark hallway, the dead of night suiting the silence he so dearly enjoyed. As his nose was buried in his work, he caught from the corner of his eye a glimpse of movement outside his door, the hair on the back of his neck crisped. He shook his head to forget the odd feeling. But then it happened again, so he stood up abruptly, stepping out to the hallway, just to see you in your pijamas, with a glass of water in your hand, and a surprised expression on your face.
"Good God, it's 4:30 a.m. What are you doing awake?" He exclaimed, angry. "You almost scared me to death."
His eyes traveled up and down your bare legs, in his mind he cursed himself.
