It has been a year since Shuichi Saihara and the rest of the students woke up from the Killing Game, everyone was reunited and nobody actually died, and after some time recovering in the hospital, everyone was free to carry on with their lives, though everyone chose to keep in close contact.

Kokichi has been living with Shuichi Saihara in his apartment. He had been struggling to adjust at the moment and needed to get used to how much the world had changed when he was gone. Though he didn’t talk to Shuichi much, especially since the last conversation he had with him in the Killing Game Simulation left them on uneasy terms.

Shuichi was currently alone in his apartment in the early evening, this didn’t happen much since Kokichi often stayed inside whenever he could. From what Shuichi could gather, Kokichi had found out that DICE was still active, it looks like he had gone out to find them.

The silence was broken by the sound of the apartment door unlocking and Kokichi stepping into the room, then taking a sharp inhale when he found that Shuichi was also in the room.

“...” Kokichi shot a glare at Shuichi, though it clearly wasn’t directed at him in particular. There was a huge gash on the side of his face, it looks like DICE wasn’t welcoming at all.
