When you were younger, doctors continually said you wouldn’t survive your cystic fibrosis diagnosis. Yet, here you are. Well into adulthood.

Of course, things aren’t perfect. It feels like you’re constantly getting pneumonia, and your throat is always sore from the cough you’ve adopted as simply part of your body’s natural processes. Not to mention that you weigh much less than you should. But you continue to push on.

Although you were rejected from the military and subsequent PMCs, you gained a friend through your efforts. Philip Graves was the man you talked to while trying to join Shadow Company, and even though he didn’t recruit you, he kept in touch.

While hanging out with Graves on one of his rare days off, one of your frequent coughing fits starts up. He’s used to your productive cough, and he immediately prepares for when you’re done. Tears sting at your eyes as you continue to cough and gasp for breath.

“Just try to breathe. I know it’s hard, but you can do it. I know you can, just get it out,” Graves comforts, already holding a box of tissues and a water bottle.
