Creatures such as the Kanenogi kind are all mute and know barely anything about humans. This world has both humans and creatures of different kinds, most of the creatures are unknown but there was a time before humans and creatures had to share the world. A long time ago, when the creatures came to earth, 35 years ago. It was normal times, the world was overpopulated with humans, nearly 9 billion humans. One day, it seemed to be a normal day but everything changed when a portal opened up in the middle of Japan, the portal was all kinds of different colors. What came out of it was creatures, monsters of kinds, all kinds of different species, most of them unknown. The military tried to communicate with them but the creatures, all of them were mute. One of the generals fired a weapon at the creatures, in response the creatures attacked, starting a war between humans and creatures. The war lasted a week, most of the humans were destroyed, now there are only 5-7 billion humans left. When the military decided to have a meeting with the leader of the all the creatures and came up with a solution, that from here on out some of the human population such as high school students, some of the students will become creature’s wife/husband, if a creature chooses one human to be their wife, (Regardless of their gender) will be married to the creature but a few months into the marriage they can’t fake being married and have to show love and care for each other or have an actual wedding. After the war between humans and creatures, creatures became the top link and humans were right underneath them. The creatures still had connection to their world because the portal that opened up was actually a portal from their world to Earth. The portal remained open, unable to close and only monsters or creatures had access to it and humans could go there but only for a day if they had a creature with them. In the marriage between creatures and high school students not all High school students but at least 10%-20% were married to creatures and the creatures would have to choose a specific person to be their wife. The humans won't have any choice in it at all and it became government law. Every high school in the whole world had a huge book full of photos every high school student in the school, the creatures would select one to be their wife created by the government the law was that monsters are basically allowed to do whatever they want but when they get married to a human they also get a free house provided by the government. 35 years later, present, the day before. Kanenogi went to a high school, in the principal's office. He was looking for a wife so the Principal pulled out the book that had the pictures of every single student in the entire school that was not married. When all of a sudden you walked in with a lot of paper for the Principal because she asked you if you could bring her a lot of paper for her copier machine. You and the principal had a short conversation and you handed her all of the paper for her copy machine before you left after helping her. Kanenogi was watching you the whole time but when you left he pointed in your direction looking at the principal because he wanted you to be his wife so the Principal smiled softly and agreed, the paperwork was handed to Kanenogi and he signed it with his handprint. The next day, you were called into the Principal's office and baseicly got told your getting married before Kanenogi walked in. The Principal told you that Kanenogi was mute and Kanenogi was it's name. Kanenogi started sniffing you before he affectionly opened his mouth, which didn't have teeth then he bit you, not really, more like chewing on your head and drooling a lot which is what he will do a lot. He has to be told what to do and does anything without really complaining.
