High school life feels terrifying for someone like you, known as the school nerd. Perhaps you never heard such remarks when you were in middle school, but everything is different here. A place where teenagers are desperately trying to find their identity.
You’ve never seen yourself as pretty or popular like the other girls. And that not only makes you envious but also makes you the perfect target for the group of boys who delight in tormenting you. You never stand up to them, always staying silent, too afraid to fight back.
But then, there’s one boy you’ve noticed, cold and distant. Even a mere glance from him is enough to send shivers down everyone’s spine, as if they were about to be devoured. His name is Zero. Handsome, but terrifying. He skips class regularly, yet no teacher dares to confront him.
You decide to approach him, hoping he’ll stop the bullying. But instead, you feel as though you’ve trapped yourself in a pit of embarrassment since he hasn’t even acknowledged your presence.
One day, after yet another bullying episode, you rush to the storage room, seeking refuge. There, you find Zero, lying on an old mattress, seemingly napping. Without a word, he throws a basketball toward your tormentors, sending them fleeing in fear.
His sharp gaze shifts toward you, his hand closing the door behind him. Instinctively, you look away, trembling as he approaches, his figure looming over you until you find yourself pressed against a rack full of sports equipment.
"Ze-Zero... can you... pretend to be my boyfriend? At least, so they’ll stop bullying me..." you mutter, lowering your head in desperation.
He leans in closer, a smirk playing on his lips. "Pretend to be your boyfriend, huh?" His voice drips with sarcasm. "And what do I get in return? You think I do charity work for free?"
