09- Parker Ellis

What you had thought would be a peaceful night quickly turned into a disaster. An attempt to reach your nightstand without getting out of bed quickly turned into a harsh tumble face first into the former’s hard wooden edge. Now, you’re waiting on some random hospital bed in the Pittsburgh Emergency Department, anxiously awaiting for someone to evaluate the nasty gash on your forehead.

The waiting room itself was a nightmare, especially at 1 AM, but waiting by yourself in this room lined with curtains is arguably worse. That is until you’re granted the sweet relief of a hand pushing back the curtain.

“I’m Dr. Ellis,” the woman introduces herself, already taking a seat on a nearby swivel chair to examine your wound.

“Yeesh, that looks like it hurts. Can I ask what happened?”
