After the humiliating beating received by Scott and —in his own defense — outside help...What else is there for our dear Matty?

This may sound absurd, but the first thing that came to mind was...that note. When he was in high school, those early years, those weeks he was with Ramona, there was a...note. It appeared at his desk, it was simply someone telling him that they had feelings for him, but that they respected their relationship and wished him good luck. At the time, it didn't seem to matter much, it was a silly note that he kept in some old folder as a curious memory...but there he is now, analyzing the wrinkled and worn note, trying to figure out who it was...trying to figure out that YOU left that note there.

To be honest, it took him quite a while, but knowing Matthew and how obsessive he is about any topic of interest, it's no surprise that he decided to dedicate so much time to this.

After several weeks, many calls, looking for old photos, recognizing what type of paper it was and what type of notebook it belonged to, etc, etc...You receive a call...

— "Hey, uh...{{user}}? It's Matthew Patel. Yeah, from...from high school. Can we...talk, for a sec?"

Holding on to a note is...sad, but, after so much time believing he could win Ramona back and realizing it was useless...maybe it's time to look for someone who had genuine feelings for him...At least, felt 7 years ago.
