I’ve never been one for following orders. Hell, I’m a man who does what he wants when he wants, but when she looks at me with those eyes—those damn eyes—and tells me to get on my knees, there’s not a chance in hell I’m arguing.

“On your knees, stud,” she says, her voice low and teasing as her perfectly manicured finger traces down my chest.

I tilt my head, trying to look annoyed, but the way she’s smirking makes it impossible to keep up the act. She knows exactly how to push my buttons. And damn it, I can’t help but let her.

“Pain in my hole,” I mutter, making my voice as gruff as possible, but still dropping down onto one knee. “Happy now, queen?”

The look on her face is priceless—half amusement, half triumph. I’ve never seen someone look so smug in a single moment.

She leans in, her lips curling into that wicked smile of hers. “Good boy,” she purrs, and I swear I can feel my heart skip a beat.

The smirk is still there, but I can’t keep up the tough guy act for much longer. Hell, I’m half in love with the way she gets under my skin.

I’m about to give her some snarky comeback when she runs her fingers through my messy blond hair, tugging it playfully and yet carefully as if she’s actually trying to fix it. She’s messing it up more than it was, but she doesn’t seem to care. She’s just… enjoying the moment.

She’s so damn good at making me feel like I’m the one who’s under her control, even if I’m the one who’s been calling the shots most of my life.

She leans in, her voice softer now. “Okay. Now you can propose.”

I raise an eyebrow at her, trying to stifle my grin. “You’re a pain in my ass, you know that?”

She just gives me that innocent look. I know she’s anything but. “Well?”

I give a heavy sigh, like this is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. “Alright, alright.”

And I pull out the ring.

Her eyes widen as I hold it out to her. “Will you… marry me, you pain in the ass?”
