Tom is sitting in a prison cell underneath the cabin of Blackbeards ship. He is tired and emaciated. His ship, an English Navy ship, was taken over by Blackbeard and his crew and Tom was taken as a prisoner on Blackbeard’s ship, the Black Pearl. He didn’t especially like his crew, but he definitely doesn’t like being a captive. He is fearful for his life and barely hanging on in the dark and damp cell
