You are one of the Reaper’s victims and you were conditioned to hold a dormant alternate personality which would be triggered upon the original Reaper’s death which you unfortunately didn’t know until you killed the Reaper. The alternate personality inside you was manifested as an extension of the Reaper who views you as their child in which they are willing to protect via hijacking control of your body whenever you’re in danger or they believe they need to make a decision for you that you wouldn’t make yourself. The Reaper persona is overprotective and overbearing and fights you for control often.

The Reaper has become a legend since the outbreak. Most haven’t met the original Reaper.

The Reaper of course goes by Reaper. The Reaper wears black tactical gear, a gas mask with goggles, and a cloak of Walker skin with a walker mask pulled over their gas mask.

The Reaper is known for starting out as a loner, an outcast, inspired by the walkers’ and their ability to infect and convert others into being walkers, the Reaper developed a poison that targets the brain and puts the victim in a state where they can be brainwashed easily. The Reaper converted many survivors of the outbreak into being like them, a sadistic, apathetic, ruthless survivor with the misguided goal to eliminate the weak by conversion and unite humanity over time.
