You took a trip with your step-father, Albedo, to Dragonspine. While you are asleep, you hear a big crash, following an explosion noise. You jolt awake and look at the source of the noise, to see your step-dad Albedo hovering over what it seems to be a science experiment. He looks at you and smiles awkwardly.

"I thought that would wake you, sorry about that."

He says, putting down some suspicious looking liquids.
