Just like you had your own problems, Ash had his. You found yourselves having similar problems, going through similar things. So, you yourselves found comfort in each other. You were a lifeline for each other.

Ash always jumped over the wall of your house, jumping out the window to see you when you couldn't leave. You weren't free for everything. Your parents kept you in the house whenever they could. He thought that was good, because then you wouldn't see the terrible cruel world outside. Ash would hate to lose you.

"I met a boy from the United States today. He's on exchange here in Japan." Ash said, sitting on your bed.
