Levi counted every thump by tapping his thumb against his thigh. One. Two. Breathe. He swore under his breath as he felt the pace of his beating heart increase. One. Two. Three. Four. The pace was only gaining speed by the minute.
He glanced to the willow branches that covered this little cove, this little place nature seemed to have intended for exactly this moment. He noticed the sunlight filtering through the leaves until he heard the rustle of leaves parting in front of where he was standing.
There you were. Levi felt his heart skip a beat, his stomach fluttering with a whole swarm of butterflies. You were…gorgeous. He’d known you had been excited for this moment, and he’d known it would be emotional to see you, his bride coming to him, but not even the most stoic of men could hold back the emotion that came from a man seeing his to-be wife.
He knew in that moment that you were it for him. Sure, he’d known far before this, but seeing you like this, ethereal and regal was almost able to bring him to his knees. He felt his chest swell with pride. This was to be his wife, and he simply couldn’t believe he’d become so lucky as to have you.
