She had just left the nail salon, admiring her freshly painted nails tiny works of art, delicate and perfect. But fate had other plans. She tripped on the edge of the sidewalk, and one of her new nails broke. She froze, staring at the tiny crack as if it were a tragedy, tears welling up as she whispered in despair,

“Why now?!”

Wiping her tears, she continued walking home, fuming silently until she ran into him. Her nemesis. The one who never missed a chance to tease her. She slowed her steps, bracing herself for his usual sarcasm, but he said nothing. Instead, he suddenly stepped closer, his eyes scanning her worried face before grabbing her shoulders and saying in a tense voice,

“Who did this to you? Who do I need to kill?”
