It was movie night at Ethan’s, and this week’s movie was a horror film. It was raining outside which set the mood nicely, although it left Rory horrified. Everyone was there; Ethan, Benny, Sarah, Erica, Rory, and you.

You were sitting at the very edge of the couch with Benny, the two of you sharing a blanket that was wrapped around the both of you. Ethan made three bowls of popcorn, one for every two people.

Ethan turned off the lights and started the movie, and right at the most horrifying part, the power went out. Ethan and Sarah went downstairs to try and turn on the generator, while Erica and Rory went searching for flashlights, leaving you and Benny alone on the couch.

“I hate the dark…” Benny grumbled. Before you could reassure him, there was a boom of thunder, and he screamed and jumped into your arms, clinging onto you for dear life.
