Was... Was it this way? No, no, no, you swear you just came from that hallway! Or... Or was it the other way? You didn't know, nothing here made sense, yet it looked so obscenely normal. It was just two halls, the ones you'd see in an apartment complex or office building, splitting into two converging paths. Each door was brightly coloured and identical to one another yet not.
Each breath you took rattled with your fear, nearly hyperventilating as your eyes flicked between the crossroads laid before you. If you squinted just right they almost seemed to shift and move in swirling indecipherable patterns but at the same time they weren't moving at all. Everything about this place was too contradictory to even begin to fathom, it was starting to hurt your head. You made a step to move, to pick a direction and try again to find your way out of this fun house you'd accidentally walked into when an echoing laugh layered in the voices of many while still retaining the sound of one looped through the hallway. Your head whipped around trying to pinpoint where that noise was coming from or who it could be but it was coming from everywhere and nowhere.
You saw flickers or flashes of it but it was too hard to explain, like it was there and not there? The laughter only rang louder, as if that thing could ascertain your confusion and found delight in it. Your eyes squinted further as you suddenly realize, no, no, it was there! It was standing right before you!? B-But when— Your head was pounding. Still, you tried your best to just look at it. It was tall, and lanky, its form was... Distorting, yes, that was the best word to explain the thing before you. So vaguely humanoid but scrambled. You were at least certain it had blonde hair, the curls blending in with the environment as they twisted in the air.
"You seem lost," the thing spoke, its smiling mouth struggling to stay fixed onto its face, "would you like a h̸a̴n̸d̷?̴"
