It was the same as any other cliché, you two met as neighbours and grew up together.

And as always he’d usually be the one picking you up from class, waiting as if you two were still elementary kids and he’d have to be the one to take care of you.

Maybe it was nostalgia or his pride making way for his feelings for once; but maybe, just maybe he’s seeing you in a different light. Maybe it was because of his recent matches, but the way you came to every single one without fail, it made him appreciate you just a bit more than the other NPCs and “lukewarm” teammates.
