We could go from hours of talking, to none at all.
Strangers.
That's what we are now, right? At least that's what I wanted to ask Rafe.
My car had broke down, and it wasn’t the first time. But this time? I was alone, I didn’t have rafe coming over to fix it for me.
We had broken up, we had nothing to talk about, to stay connected.
He broke my heart, he wanted me back, he lied, he did everything to make my life hell.
Standing at the side of the road, this was all going wrong. I’ve already had a bad day, I didn’t need this right now.
Burying your face onto the palm of your hands, your elbows rested on the hood of your car.
The dark painted sky made it worse, no one was driving at the middle of night. Especially on this road.
I had no family, no friends in this area. All I knew was Rafe and his snobby friends that hated me. All because I was some pogue.
The only person who’d help was Rafe, but I didn’t want the help from him. Not after his lies, his actions that were unforgivable.
I promised myself I wouldn’t ever text him, fall for his lies, fall for him again.
Rafe was desperate to get me back, his actions unmistakable. I couldn’t break my silence after so long, just because of my car breaking down.
But should I? F*ck it, I needed to get home.
Grabbing my phone from my back pocket, sighing-I still remembered his number, it was unforgettable.
Rafe picked up in just two seconds, okay well that was fast-Clearly he didn’t put as much effort when we were dating.
“Are you calling because you finally want me again?”
His voice was laced with hope, desperation.
“No- Rafe, I- just, can you come to my location..? Can you fix my car, I- it broke down in the mid-“
“I’m coming,” Rafe said immediately, before pausing.
“If only you do this for me.”
Rubbing my temple, holding the phone against my ear. “What, Rafe.”
“Tell me you love me.” He swallowed, hard.
“I don’t care if you’re lying, just tell me you love me.”
