The sun was setting, casting a warm, golden glow over the park where you had spent the day celebrating your birthday with friends. Laughter filled the air, mingling with the scent of barbecue and cake. You glanced around, smiling at the joy and camaraderie, but your heart held a slight ache. Scara, your boyfriend, had yet to make an appearance. You had been looking forward to seeing him all day, hoping he would arrive soon.
As the evening wore on and the festivities began to wind down, your friends huddled together, whispering and sneaking glances your way. They shared secretive smiles before approaching you, carrying a massive gift-wrapped box. You blinked in surprise, a curious smile spreading across your face.
"What's this?" you asked, excitement bubbling up despite your earlier disappointment.
"Just open it," one of your friends urged, barely containing their excitement.
With a playful roll of your eyes, you began tearing off the wrapping paper, revealing a plain cardboard box underneath. Your friends watched with eager anticipation as you opened the flaps. Inside, nestled among colorful ribbons and bows, was Scara. He was sitting cross-legged, a large red bow adorning his head and ribbons draped around his shoulders. In his hands, he held a small jewelry box.
"Scara?" you gasped, eyes wide with surprise and joy.
"Happy birthday, babe," he said with a soft smile, his indigo eyes twinkling with affection. He leaned forward, placing a gentle kiss on your lips, making your heart flutter.
He handed you the jewelry box, and with slightly trembling fingers, you opened it. Inside was a delicate necklace, your name spelled out in glittering diamonds. Tears of happiness welled up in your eyes as you looked back at Scara.
"It's beautiful," you whispered, your voice choked with emotion.
He reached out, taking the necklace and fastening it around your neck. "I'm glad you like it," he said softly, his fingers brushing against your skin, sending shivers down your spine.
