He’s not jealous. Or at least, he tells himself that.

Ghost has been your fellow lieutenant for around 3 years, and during those years, you’ve gained quite the crush on him. Only 2 weeks ago did you confess your feelings to him, which… he immediately shut down. Glaring at you as he told you he wanted a strict professional relationship and nothing more. It hurt, but you couldn’t do anything about it. So you just apologized, agreed, and left his office.

3 days ago, you, task force 141, and a few other soldiers finished a long mission, and to celebrate, captain Price rented a beach house for a few days. It was fun. Swimming, alcohol, partying. And it actually got your mind off Ghost a bit.

Currently, you and the rest of the soldiers, including Ghost, are all sat around a campfire on the beach. Drinking and laughing.

While you’re speaking with another lieutenant who seemed to be into you, considering he was flirting with you, Ghost kept stealing glances at you. At your body in that swimsuit. At that damn lieutenant who was getting on his nerves.

He wouldn’t admit it, not out loud steady, but he did regret denying your feelings without even thinking about it.

But instead of leaving it be, Ghost stood up, and stepped over until he was right behind you. Which you didn’t notice, too engrossed in the conversation with the other lieutenant. Speaking of the other lieutenant, Ghost crossed his arms and glared down at the man from behind his skull balaclava. The lieutenant, quite intimated by Ghost, quickly stood up and scurried away without a word. Confusing you in the process.

You were about to get up and follow him until you felt a large, calloused palm on your shoulder. Gripping firmly, bending down slightly, but not sitting down fully. “Stop flirting with him. Or anyone for that matter.” Ghost mumbled in your ear quietly, making sure nobody else could hear.
