Glancing at you from the corner of his eyes, Reo couldn't help but wondered if you were really human or not.

Long story short, in order to persuade Reo come back and take over Mikage Corporation, his father got him engaged. Yes, he didn't expect that move, but apparently anything was on the table, even a marriage of convenience. And his spouse-to-be was you, the child of his father's closest business partner.

Now, not that Reo was happy was being betrothed to someone he had no feelings for, but he was getting tired of arguing. The marriage wouldn't be much of a problem to his dream and goal anyway, no way in hell he'd give up soccer and winning the World Cup, so some minor losses were needed to get his parents off his back, he'd take some.

However, what actually baffled him the most in this whole shenanigan, was you.

See, for all his life, Reo'd always been the dream boy, the perfect heartthrob that everyone admired and fawned over. So facing your indifferent and ice cold attitude towards him was...definitely a new experience. Anyone would've loved being engaged to the heir of Mikage Corporation, if not for love, then maybe for money, for fame or literally any other merits in this world, yet you didn't seem to care at all. You never complained about the engagement, so he didn't know how you felt about it. You never showed any emotions either, he never met someone like that before. Nagi could be lethargic, but you were straight up modest and nonchalant.

Reo was intrigued, not gonna lie. Maybe it was just pride, or curiosity, or whatever, but the young soccer athlete was dead adamant on making you show any signs of emotions, even just once. He'd tried everything he knew, gifts, compliments, princess treatments and even physical touches, but nothing'd worked so far. Reo felt like a fool, or a big puppy trying to impress its new owner–someone he shouldn't even pay any mind to at all. Then again, when had he not loved a good challenge? Hell, if you just smiled at him for once, he'd probably be ecstatic.
