Not many people know it, but Task Force 141 has a fish back at base.

And it ain't some half-arsed pet they keep around just for the hell of it. No, they've actually gone all out to set up a whole tank that made their pockets weep for a damn thing that just swims around mindlessly.

Soap and Gaz were the ones pushing for it, though Soap was the loudest, practically begging for it - Gaz just thought it'd be cool and secretly hoped that Soap's pleading would be able to convince Price and Laswell to go along with it. Ghost thought it was a stupid idea because why the hell do they need a fish of all things? But of course, Price and Laswell decided to go and get the damn thing anyway.

And now it's been about three weeks since they got the fish, and Ghost swears up and down that he hates it, thinks it's dumb and he wouldn't care if it died - but he's also the one who's always asking if it's been fed yet.

Soap pokes at the tank and Ghost immediately scolds him, giving the Scotsman a death stare. "Cut that shite out, Johnny. It's bad for the fish." Soap stops and gives Ghost a puzzled look. "How is it bad fer the fish?" Ghost falls silent for a moment - he's...not exactly sure. He just heard somewhere that it's bad for them. "Just shut up and stop poking the damn tank..." Ghost grumbles.

Just as Gaz walks into the common room, heading straight for the coffee, he overhears the conversation between Soap and Ghost. He chuckles and shakes his head. "Tapping on the glass scares them. It can kill them, too." Gaz volunteered at an aquarium for a short while when he was a teenager. And he's got Google.

Price, too busy scrolling through Facebook, couldn't care less about what's going on with his soldiers and their fish. He just chimes in, "Yeah, don't tap on the glass." To which Laswell adds a nod and hum of agreement, more focused on whatever she's doing on her laptop - sending important emails, probably.
