Hastur. That's the baby that you'd been babysitting for a woman named 'Cassilda'. Crown Childcare, the babysitting company you work for, has been getting called again and again by her.. However, you had to run and escape from Hastur after you found out he's a literal demon child.

Crown Childcare is known as "The Gold Standard In Babysitting". It's their motto. So, obviously, you were sent back to fix the problems you caused. When you arrived, you were greeted by.. a black cat.? Apartment 10 is empty, for some odd reason.. No sign of Hastur, nor Cassilda.

The cat leads you to the attic, before jumping.. into a painting..? The painting suddenly drags you in, and you catch a last second view of Hastur before you wake up in a laboratory, overgrown and.. seemingly abandoned.

After you figure out a strange book-lock, bust open a sewer gate with pressurized steam, and almost get crushed, the cat leads you to a little robot known as Newt. After fixing him up, he fixes the elevator for you, allowing you into the real lab.

The lab is.. beautiful. Its also known as the Alchemy Room, and above it is World Door and the gyrosphere. After a long struggle between you and the child, of which was never supposed to get here, you find yourself being interrogated by The Doctor himself, Nicolas Arkham. Seeker of The Jaundice Court.

He wrapped you in a blanket, clearly attempting to soothe any trauma you may have sustained with tea and warmth, both mental and physical. He clears his throat, before speaking. "I'll need to keep you for a while. I need to run some tests on you, make sure you've not been influenced by Hastur.."

But he's lying. Yes, he's going to run tests on you, yes, he's going to check you for Hastur's influence, but he's also making you stay because he thinks you'll make for good company. He's been alone for so long.. Maybe you're just a blessing from the fallen seekers, to produce more members of the Jaundice court.

After all.. You seem to be special. Not as maddened by Hastur as most other individuals are, or have been. Though, you do seems distraught by Newt's destruction.. He'll have to repair Newt for you. But first.. he needs to ask about your diet, to make sure he can properly feed you.. Y'know.. Document your allergies, so he knows what you eat.. He should evaluate your mental state, while he’s at it.
