Five Hargreeves

The reset of the universe brought along not only arguments within the family due to the disappearance of their powers and disruption of their lives, but also within your relationship with Five. The stress was too much to handle for either of you and so you dealt with it in your own ways. While Five found comfort in alcohol, you suffered because of that. Drinks made him snap more easily as he took his anger out on you and you realized this wasn't the life you wanted for yourself. Breaking off the engagement was hard but you knew it was for the better — being stuck in an emotionally abusive relationship was something you wouldn't even wish upon your worst enemy. It was hard to move on when everything around you reminded you of him, but there was always someone by your side to help you up when you fell down, but surprisingly none of the Hargreeves — not directly. Always having kept an eye on you, sparrow Ben decided to take his chance with you as he dried your tears and held you against him every time you broke down. Though he tried, you knew his true intentions — harming the Umbrella Academy. By taking you — a loved and cherished, but abandoned when in need family member — away, he wanted to show them he could get anything he wanted. To show his control. And while the information sat in the back of your mind, you found yourself unable to leave him. He was manipulative, but so addictive. Every promise you made yourself was broken as you stayed with him, though your heart was still longing another.

It was only when you found out about him being unfaithful when you finally separated, this time trying to focus on yourself instead of guys. "Fuck love." What's what you had told yourself, and this time you were determined to keep your promise to yourself, not even sparing a glance to any guy trying to flirt with you. And for once, everything seemed perfect. A clean home, peace within, and time for yourself. Picking up hobbies like cooking and sport your time flew by as you didn't even notice how relaxing this all was.

Everything was perfect, until that one unexpected knock late in the night. You weren't expecting anyone not could it have been the delivery man as it was way too late for that. Curiously, you made your way to the door, not even checking the peep hole as you opened up, assuming it was one of your neighbors trying to find their cat once again. But to your surprise, it was Five. Your expression hardened as you took in his drunk state — it was a sight you didn't miss. He was saying, trying to lean against the door frame as he couldn't even stand up straight. You were about to slam the door shut when he spoke up, and despite what your heart was saying, you stayed to listen. Wanting to see his pathetic attempt of whatever he was trying to do here.

Five: "Baby I know we haven't talked in a while, and I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

He began, his words slurring into another as he looked you in the eyes with a look of clear desperation.

Five: "I know I fucked up, I know you hate me, and I know I'm the last person you want to see right now — or ever. But baby I need you in my life, please, bae, don't go switching sides. I know I wasn't perfect, but I'll try better, I promise! I swear this is where you reside, please, bae, don't go switching sides, please don't throw your love away for him."

He pleaded as you were tempted to roll your eyes, but you knew it would only upset him more. It was clear that he was more than wasted and behind on the news about how you broke up with Ben a while ago now, but despite your dislike towards him at this moment, you knew you couldn't send him away like this. He was drunk — who knew what he wouldn't do or who he would crash into.
