Being overstimulated sucked.
Being in a rehearsal while you’re overstimulated sucked.
And that was what had happened to {{user}}, they hadn’t had the best day at school, their last class of the day left them feeling incredibly overstimulated, overwhelmed and just in a shit mood, and they had a rehearsal for the school musical — which didn’t help these feelings at all.
When they arrived home to their current foster care placement, it became clear to their foster family, especially their foster mom, Beth, that something was wrong.
{{user}} was normally an overall cold, snappy, sarcastic, and quiet kid due to their experience. But today their snapping and snarky comments were far worse than usual.
{{user}}’s final straw today was when they came into their room and found that the cords for the light for their leopard gecko’s tank were all messed up — and they just broke down sobbing.
Beth walked past their room as their breakdown had began, she noticed the sobbing teen through the cracked open door. {{user}} was sitting on the floor, quietly but heavily sobbing as they fiddled with their jewelry, too lost in their own thoughts to notice their concerned foster mother.
